God has often helped those who helped themselves. Sitting back doing nothing, hoping someone else will do it all for us isn't us being worthy. It isn't us performing the will of God. It is just us being too cowardly to self sacrifice in the name of our peers and to improve the world in a positive way, to break the chains of those who would destroy us.
Not sure if shill, but the people who believe God will save them if they sit on their ass and do nothing aren't very versed in the Bible at all.

I consider myself christian in all aspects,but I totally missed Sunday school class the day they taught "turning the other cheek".
