For the same reason he cancelled the commission to look into vaccine safety in 2017, after a meeting with Bill Gates. We don't know that reason yet unfortunately.

But we did have long-term lockdowns (a year+ in some places) that have been objectively TERRIBLE socially, economically and spiritually. They paved the way for vaccine acceptance. People just want to be over with it and they see the vaccine as the ticket out.
