I think they wanted the election infection to die down, and also perhaps give Durham some time to finish his investigation and file indictments. The patriots in the NSA and MI undoubtedly gave Durham TONS of evidence from the server raid and Leonardo arrests, and we also twice saw DOJ planes flying to Toronto where Dominion is headquartered. All that would take some time to process. No wonder Durham hired additional prosecutors after Christmas.
