Job apparently had to suffer until he learned true humility- because he had the nerve to be mad at GOD for not "obeying the rules," so to speak. Job did not ask for his family or kids or anything- no, he believed he was his own god, master of his own destiny, because he thought the rules governing sacrifice and prayer guaranteed, or purchased, his wealth and blessings- and that these rules superceded even God's own will.
So if we're in the middle of Job, we probably should not be complaining about what we're owed or deserve...
