Seems like just banning sex work would make more sense and cost the tax payers less.
You have to be 21 to drink, 21 to buy cigarettes, and now 21 to work as a stripper... either you’re an adult at 18 and able to give legal consent or you’re not. If we want to raise the age of legal adulthood to 21, fine, but that means military service and voting too. You can’t be old enough to consent to war or sex, but not old enough to consent to tobacco or stripping.
States just need to pick an age and stick to it. Ideally it would be 16 for everything, and we get back to a time when we didn’t have this crazy prolonged adolescence. But we live in a time where 27 year olds act like 14 year olds, never knowing any kind of responsibility.
Remember a time when 16 year old boys had a job, a POS car (that they paid for), at least two hunting rifles, and respect for their elders?
Folks, start homeschooling your kids if you can. Adolescence isn’t just a “time to be a kid” but a time for learning how to be an adult. If they don’t learn as kids, they don’t learn.

Wow sounds like heaven for any age ..what island may I ask ? I’d love to find one , I live in San Diego and although the weather keeps me here it’s getting harder every year
I've heard multiple times that the brain fully matures at 25. Men's insurance rates dropping at that age is a strong indication that now they have a fully developed brain they stopped doing stupid shit in their car.
30 makes sense presently, but it would contribute to the problem. And in a perfect world, yes, it wouldn’t be an age, but a level of maturity. However, there is no way to properly administer or judge that, without infringing on basic rights.
16 would be the ideal, meaning, if parents actually parented, and we didn’t have a whole class of elites and government actively trying to destroy any kind of filial piety.
Read “Little House on the Prairie” and lives of teenagers in the 1800s. Hell, even in the 1950s, 16 year olds were practically adults. They were certainly more mature than most of today’s 30 year olds. There is no reason, under normal circumstances, that a 16 year old cannot be entrusted with responsibility, whether to fight for their country, marry, or have a beer.
I agree to one thing. No matter what age is settled on, if ever.. it needs to be across the board, voting, drinking, driving, property owning, military.. all of it and all of the accountabilities that go along with it. 16 imo is too young, I know I had no clue about how the world worked at 16, was still trying to figure out how to deal with things in my own lil social circle.
I do know that it has always bothered me that they allow you to go to war at 18, get charged as a adult at 18 but, not allowed to do other things at 18, like buy alc. 18 is the generic age you finish primary school, expected to go to collage or to get a job etc
