What sort of Bible do you read. The way of the wicked is wide, and many go on it. It leads to weeping and gnashing of teeth. The way of the righteous is narrow and free find it. Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life. Whoever comes to the father must come through me. Have you not known that God is a righteous God. I can guarantee you that not many will be saved. There is not many paths to heaven. That is trash theology and morally dangerous and reprehensible. It is to in fact mock God to believe that, as you basically might as well piss on God’s word. Jesus is the only way. Through his righteousness, the work he accomplished on earth, his perfect life, his perfect sacrifice on the cross for his chosen people. That is the only salvation. Predestination, not only Romans 9, but search for those whose names are in the Book of Life. Many more than some expect, far fewer than others expect will make it to heaven. Turn to Christ, alone.
It’s not an intermediary if you believe the Christ is God. Christ is both Judge and Redeemer. He sits on the judgment throne, but also comes along side us. He sticks closer than a brother yet was there when man was first created. In the Old Testament, there was intermediaries. Priests, high priest, sacrifices, all to clear the sin of mankind to approach the absolute holiness of a pure and righteous God.
We definitely do not have the ability to perfect ourselves by ourselves. If you have interest in the depths of theology of the Christian faith, go to the book of Hebrews or Paul’s Epistles, those are great theological discussion books. A son of man and the son of man are two different people. Consider God in the garden of Eden saying that her descendant would crush Satans head and he would strike Jesus’s heel. Or in the Psalms where David speaks about my Lord said to My Lord sit though at my right hand speaking of his descendant. Jesus was truly man, the genealogy of Him, the pains he felt, but he was also God, the sacrifices slain on Jewish altars were insufficient in that they could not atone the weight of the sin, nor will God punish another creature for man’s sin. The righteous demands spoken of throughout the Old Testament and looking wt the prophet Isaiah, it is easy to see that the Christ (as we say Jesus / Jesus Christ) would fulfill the law, not replacing the law with a new one, but he fulfilled it, he followed the law from the first to the last. You and I are unable to follow the laws, and even if we could follow our perception of the law, unless we are sinless and righteous, we cannot stand before God. Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins, and has granted us his righteousness through his will to adopt us as co-heirs with him. This truth stands on a very simple precept, you must accept and confess (publicly profess) that Jesus is the Lord and Savior, is your friend, is the judge of all mankind. It’s offensive to anyone refusing to believe, it is meant to be an offensive message to the hating world. But sweet will be the glory he is given, as he lifts us up to the glorious heaven. Glory be to God.
