Unless it's been changed since 2018, no one can carry a gun on a base except security. I commented on this stupidity to anyone who would listen regardless of tank, since the mass shooting at the Navy Yard in DC. Never could get an answer to "let me get this straight. We trust the people with multi million dollar aircraft but not with a gun?"
I don't get it, the military in my head seems like it should be heavily armed and ready at all times in all places. But I guess that's just me...
I think Clinton implemented this rule. Can't tell you how aggravated I was at every drill and training program....I worked in the midst of active and retired Marines and I had to stay under my desk?! These men had been through war, were marksmen, we spent a gazillion dollars training them and a single nutcase with a rifle could take us all out.
