POTS people don't have too much NO or NOS, but the creation of NOS is needed for spikes of norepinephrine.
Spikes of norepinephrine are pronounced in people with POTS, which is why many complain that caffeine makes them sleepy (it does for me).
The caffeine spikes adrenaline and the body's normal response is to antagonize it with norepinephrine so the body doesn't kill itself on the adrenaline. That's the normal process. People with POTS create WAY too much norepinephrine and lead to an adrenaline dump.
It's also why workouts make POTS patients feel far worse than before with a complete absence of an adrenaline/dopamine high.
Methylene Blue inhibits the NOS which puts a cap on the norepinephrine, or that's the theory anyway.
Include breathing exercises like the Wim Hoff method to improve oxygen blood flow and it may just be what is needed.
I'm starting on a low dose of Methylene Blue, and I had to get off my SNRI because Methylene Blue works similar to St. John's Wort and can lead to serotonin syndrome which can kill.
If you do decide to take it, ONLY take pharmaceutical grade. There might be mercury in lab and fish-tank grades.
Take it under the tongue - only 15% gets in through the stomach.
4 drops of this brand is appropriate for a 200lb person. I'm only taking 1 at the moment.
Oh, and keep a toothbrush nearby in case it gets on your teeth. It is a clothes dye after all.
One last thing, I put it on a butterknife, dry the bottom of my tongue and then apply. It's the only way I have found to avoid getting it everywhere.
Methylene blue is also available in capsule form, which does not stain going down.
Also interesting is that MB is a photodynamic molecule, meaning that it will absorb a light's frequency and will emit that frequency over time, while in your body. MB has been tested and appears to be beneficial against covid as well, both with and without light priming.
I was just thinking about putting them in capsules myself, but then I read that only 15% of the stuff is absorbed through the gut and the best method is to put it under the tongue like nitro pills.
I read up on the light stuff too. The effect I can surmise is that because it is violently blue it reflects blue light. In reflecting blue light, it reflects the most high-frequency light waves instead of letting them pass through the body, which includes UVA, UVB, and UVC light. That further allows the subsurface scattering of the light act as an antimicrobial, literally killing with sunlight, while the stain itself permeates cells and protects them from that same light.
I could be wrong, but I believe the photodynamic aspect is related to the molecular stearic properties (i.e., the 3d shape) more than the color itself. Meaning that the absorbed and released light is not the same as the color. There are sonodynamic particles as well, but the particles are normally boundless. Under a doctor's advice I swirled MB while using a dental uv sterilizer mouthpiece for a while. Same doctor supplied the MB in capsules, but different concentrations. There's also a skin cream containing MB (bluelene), as it is a powerful anti-oxidant. Doesn't make your skin blue. Worked to remove a skin boil after consistent application.
Interesting. It seems it has more to it than I had been able to find.
I'm gonna look into it some more.
Thanks for the "big words." 90% of working a search engine is just knowing what things are called, so you've given me more of a treasure map than you probably were aware.
Thank you for the thoughtful referral! I find myself allergic to man altered substances, but I will look fully into this and consider it. Interesting idea that clothes dye could help with so many things. Will be interesting to see why, if that’s knowable. I know I have responded more to dopamine related treatments, and have similar issues to the others you mentioned. Good looking out.
Oh, I need to mention something important if you have the same problem I do.
Methylene Blue might be the proper treatment.
The active mechanism is as a NO -> NOS inhibitor.

Mine did not come with a dropper...

Time to dig!
