They really should not allow foreigners to buy land in the USA, mainland or protectorates.
Look at what happened to Vancouver - sky high prices for real estate because the Chinese from Hong Kong and the millionaires from mainland China priced out the Canadians who couldn't afford them. (source close friend who couldn't buy an apartment, let alone a house in Vancouver).
