[This Revolver article] is excellent. It has the story of the "Whitmer kidnapping plot." That started out as an invasion of the Michigan State Capitol. It turns out that many of the "plotters" were actualy either FBI or FBI informants!
Basically, the kidnapping plot is to the Jan 6th "insurrection" as Operation Northwoods is to 9/11.
