That's a good point. It is unfortunate that cocaine and heroin are nothing like the plants they were extracted from because guessing it is similar to extracting cheese from weed. It's more potent (practically pure 100%) THC and it's caused dangerous effects on people. Whisky (which I myself will even attest is delicious) is also concentrated malt beer. But with concentrated materials you're making something that was very subtle and not as potent suddenly very potent. Potency I would also guess would increase the potential of addiction because it's easier to use too much. Much why alcoholics seem to go for distilled alcohol, but not beer and wine (well some go for the wine). It's all very convoluted. Too many variables to place one over the other. My point was really if you look at the coca leaf for example, the natural state of cocaine, was used by tribes in the mountains to mitigate the effects of high altitude sickness which stems from it's effect on the respiratory system, i.e. stresses it because of thinner air. Somehow though the natives discovered that chewing on the coca leaf mitigated the sufferings of laboring in the mountains so they'd chew on it while working. See in that case it served a medicinal purpose. It being a natural stimulant like caffeine in coffee boosted respiratory action so that the natives could get more oxygen. Unfortunately it was the propensity of man in his fallen state to be subject to sin which addiction is also in a sense a form of slavery to a substance which could be a form of idolatry. I am no way condemning those in addiction. I'm a former addict myself so I see the potential even within me to be victim to it. But I guess what I'm saying is that we've blamed God's creation when we're the ones that abuse it. I guess I'm trying to achieve changing people's perspective (hopefully in the volition of the Holy Ghost) to see creation as beautiful and good and to see the corruption of it as bad and evil ya know?
Good points all the same and God bless you in Jesus name, friend. Amen
