I immediately started going through all the arguments for and against such a position, and what role government should play in this scenario with a private university. But then it occurred to me...replace the word "unvaccinated" with "black", and how would the scenario change? To extend the analogy, should universities be allowed to charge an extra fee for black students using the argument they "might" bring more crime or start a crime wave on campus? How is this any different than saying the unvaccinated might increase health care costs or bring disease? There is no evidence to suggest either, and yet the mind revolts against one and is willing to consider the other. But that wasn't always the case. 100 years ago I doubt society would have the same aversion to the 2 scenarios. So this isn't a simple case of objective facts. It is a case of values, both personal and societal.
Which begs the question. Does the government have a right and/or responsibility to make the Covid unvaccinated a protected, political class, free from persecution, just as they do today for various other classes? Such a consideration would immediately render mute all of the arguments that people use to say a private institution or employer can discriminate against a certain group that they don't like. Given that I don't see the administrators of these schools coming to an enlightened decision on their own, and the fact that the huge endowments, brand names and good will these universities have generated over decades can not be reproduced in a realistic timeframe by a startup, it does not seem fair or American to allow these private university boards to use the resources of the institution to project their personal political biases. We wouldn't allow them to use institution funds to indulge their personal financial pleasures. Why should we allow them to misuse these more ephemeral resources simply to indulge their political prejudices?
Would love to hear arguments for/against the proposal to ask our Congress critters to make the unvaccinated a protected class.
Putting people into protected classes is a tactic of marxists. focus on civil liberties for everyone.
The idea is everyone is in a protected class of universal civil protection against discrimination.
It is why we are a Constitutional Republic and not a 'democracy'.
As much as I believe that no one should mandate this vaccine, I don’t believe a protected class would fly because the opposition would say this is a matter of “public health.” I 100% believe that one should have the ability to make medical decisions for oneself, but I don’t believe the protected class would work here.
Like a lot of ideology and laws .....
You only need to replace those ‘oppressors’ or ‘causations’ with a color or race or religion....
Like Hitler or rather the National Socialist Workers Party of Germany did when they took the USAs Jim Crow laws and replaced ‘colored’ with ‘Jew’ and then put those same Jim Crow laws into German law....!
Or how the Marxism of today replaces the word ‘Proletariat’ with ‘White’ and. ‘Bourgeoisie’ with. ‘Black’....
In Soviet Countries they always had an ‘enemy of the people’ .... Christians, The West, Etc etc
You only have to mix in color, race or religion into any pre-revolution ideology of the last century be it the facism of Nazi Germany, the Marxism of Italy or indeed the Imperial Japanes pre WW2 or the Chinese under Mao or Cambodians under Pol Pot, Vietnam under Ho Chi, etc etc
Then take any organisation today and they do the same exact thing.... the Democrats, BLM, Antifa, etc etc
They have all bastardised the key to any socialist or communist doctrine and based those same ideologies around color, race, and religion....!
We should all make a point to play and spread the documentaries of the time from the few years before and few years after Hitler took power to see the exact same principles being put in place at the time being put in place here right now and in last decade or so by the Swamp Politicians and their masters.....!
It still absolutely floors me why so many people out there can’t see it or refuse to even consider that possibility without actually finding out for themselves...!

No surprise that their logic is twisted and backwards.
Obviously we are born unvaccinated, and that is as much a person's natural state as the skin color they are born with, but they frame it as though you are unvaccinated by choice, rather than that they are vaccinated by choice.
That is what the wording, "refused" vaccination implies , that you chose to be unvaccinated, that your choice puts others at danger etc.
But being that it is not a choice, but is actually our natural state we should be protected. We should also have federal holidays dedicated to us, we should have a special flag, and we should have parades, and an unvaccinated pride month too.
No. We need to do away with "protected classes" of people. No one race or class of people is more expendable, or protectable, than the others.
WE ARE ALL EQUAL AND HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS UNDER GOD, HIS LAWS, AND THE LAWS OF MAN, AKA THE U.S. CONSTITUTION.
