I am ignorant about internet domain stuff, but it seems to me that an entity should actually be a government entity to have a ".gov" website.
And, now, with them being global and stuff it just doesn't seem appropriate.
Oh, the things that pollute my mind on a Saturday night. Please clear my thinking Lord. Refocus my thoughts on You, Lord.
Please pray for me (and US).

Very good point. This has been a long-running sleight of hand, holding the Fed out as if it is a government agency, ostensibly working for the benefit of the American people, when in fact it is privately and secretly owned. I don't think many people were aware it wasn't a governmental entity until the past five years or so. Just the name indicates they wanted people to think it was part of the government. But it confers no benefits on the American people; it receives benefits from the American people and directs those benefits to its secret shareholders. Why it gets a .gov url is a very good question.
