Does anyone think the sample of people that participated in that survey is a statistically accurate representation of the US population as a whole?
In reality, the results from many studies over multiple decades very consistently shows the number of non-heterosexual people at roughly 2% of the population.
Those that are non-heterosexual always spend a lot of time and effort trying to inflate that percentage, for various psychological reasons.
Non-heterosexuals are a biological dead-end for obvious reasons, and nature focuses on reproduction, not extinction.
This. Beyond everything you said, there's also the peer pressure aspect for those of younger age and of feeble mind. The media and leftist culture have basically made it "cool" to be anything but straight. If you ever looked into this, most of these "increases" are in the "bisexual and pansexual" portion of this statistic. Basically the portion that let's people claim they're not straight while still acting and actually being straight on everything but paper.
This is literally nothing more than a bunch of attention whores trying to draw attention to themselves. "LOOK AT ME! I'M SPECIAL AND HAVE A BUNCH OF OUT THERE QUIRKY SEXUAL TAGS TO ADD TO MY PROFILE!"
The facts of the matter are, like you said, these people roughly make up 2% of the population when you include all of the alphabet freaks put together. It's just like the trans-regret phenomenon. They'll say they're gay, bi, whatever, when they're young and then come to regret and just admit they're straight when they're older, have some life experience under their belt, and come to their senses.
As for all these older people claiming this crap are the same type of attention whores who claim to be "social justice warriors that fight against inequity" and then turn around and say racist stuff while embezzling money from those they're supposed to be fighting for.
