I thought this was interesting. I was in jury duty for the last 2 days for a civil trial. Something that stuck out to me was that the US flag in the courtroom did not have gold fringe, it did not have any gold tassels and there was not other adornments whatsoever. It was just a US flag on a pole the way one would expect it should be.
I wish I had snapped a photo but I wasn't able to as they took our phones.
State court or federal?
state
That is interesting. Was there a Bible on the table?
no bible
So how can you swear on the Bible if it is not there? Even in my deep blue state, there is a Bible on the table. That is weird.
This was a state court. Didn't see a bible and when they swore in witnesses there was no bible. Just raise right hand and swear to the oath.
