Rewritten countless times? There are thousands of surviving copies of the New Testament, some from as early as the 1st century AD, and for the Old Testament, there are the Dead Sea Scrolls as well as many more recent copies.

Consider this: if the Word was rewritten, why did the Papacy attempt to keep it out of people's hands during the Dark Ages? They were teaching many unbiblical doctrines, as they still do to this day, and didn't want anyone to catch on. Odd that they didn't just rewrite it to reflect their own teachings.

Also, why has there been such an effort throughout the ages to destroy the Bible if it has been and can just be tampered with? With that in mind, the fact that you can just go to a store and purchase a copy nowadays is nothing short of miraculous.

Literally not true. Satan is mentioned by name in Job, which is traditionally thought to have been the first book in the Bible that was written down. Other places that he's mentioned in the Old Testament include 1 Chronicles, Psalms, and Zechariah. Salvation, as a concept, is also found throughout the Old Testament.

Depends on the situation, but even when you understand something well enough from the get-go, taking the time to analyze what you've been told can lead to you understanding it better.

If I didn't have a desire to learn and know the truth then I would've never studied the Bible, history, and many other subjects as I have, and I fully attribute my desire for truth to God.
