Probable, If i recall well recently on a decodingsymbolism blog article there was something mentioning a comm from him where he presumably asked for 'help' as he wanted to switch side, plus if we think at the quite scenic personality he has and the hell he exfiltrated from the world via his (anti)Virus during the decades, killing him would be just a suicide
