McAfee connection is rumor
No sources to go along with the WILD speculation that McAfee had files in that bldg. I find it unlikely, unless there's connections between him and a resident there. It's possible, but only time will tell with that, unfortunately.
As for the "flashes of light," most electrical sparks show up as either white, blue, or violet light, especially on a camera. Some may have been from electrical wiring, but most of those flashes were yellow, indicative of an explosion of some sort. Also, the way the bldg came down on itself, pancaked, AND literally pulverized the concrete says to my trained eyes that this was a "free fall" event. Just like the WTC bldgs.
Also, Dade, Broward, and Palm Bch Counties have some of the STRICTEST bldg codes for bldgs of any size, but especially bldgs over 5 stories. They're designed to withstand tornadoes and hurricanes with wind speeds over 250mph. They're also designed to withstand airplane hits and tsunamis. They have earthquake codes, but not as strong as the West Coast.
There's also no sign of sinkhole damage around the bldg. It came down into its own footprint. There's ONLY ONE way to bring a bldg that tall down into it's own footprint: a controlled demo.
I know this because I was trained to do this as a Navy EOD Tech. We don't just learn how to defuse and disarm explosives. We learn how to do it all.
The signs are apparent if you know what to look for.
