Video games are probably the only reason baseball is relevant with youth. Baseball doesn't really have personalities or sluggers to draw kids in these days over other sports or entertainment like in the 90s and early 2000s.

On the other hand MLB the show sells better than a lot of non sports games, has a huge online scene, and appeals even to people who don't like baseball. Meanwhile every other sport game performs worse each year.
