Internet is how grocery stores track inventory and place new orders.
Internet is how gas stations place new orders.
Internet is how delivery shipments are tracked.
Internet is how banks transfer funds and how purchases are made.
Most Americans can get by for about 2-days without the internet. After that, it gets a bit more serious. A week without internet would be a catastrophe for a large portion of society.... but would be survivable.
More than 2 weeks without internet would be a large scale disaster.
If something like that happens, my advice is DON'T sit at home playing card games. Grab a lounge chair and sit under a shade tree with binoculars watching a grocery store entrance. That should be far more entertaining than television.
For the first 25 years of my life there was no internet and somehow we survived. Hell, I think it would do us all some good to live without it for a couple weeks.
Humans have lived much longer without power/electricity than they have with it. So it’s kind of the same story. Our society isn’t set up to function without internet anymore, the same way it would make it very difficult without electricity.
That could be bad.

Not that long ago all that shit was done over the phone. Not hard to go back, unless the phone lines go down as well.
phone=internet
If one goes down so does the other. Even old school land based copper lines need internet once it gets to the switch.
Yeah a lot of phone services have moved to VOIP.

Cut the power? That's a different story.
Humans have lived much longer without power/electricity than they have with it. So it’s kind of the same story. Our society isn’t set up to function without internet anymore, the same way it would make it very difficult without electricity.
Humanity survived without internet prior to the 1980's.
We'll fuckin' do it again.
