The judge told her the first step to end the conservatorship was to file paperwork to do it. She has been begging her lawyer to do it, but he is slow-walking and not doing it.
Here's the thing, she doesn't get to pick her own lawyer. The conservators pick them. Brittany tried to hire her own lawyers, but when she did the judge refused to recognize them. They are forcing her to use their handpicked lawyer and then that handpicked lawyer (chosen by the conservators) is not filing the paperwork despite her repeated pleads for him to do it.
Hundreds and hundreds are feeding off her fortune. Likely the reason they can't end the conservatorship is because they probably stole most of the money. If it ends it will reveal how little is left. They picked her clean and enslaved her.
She can't marry. They force her to have an IUD so she won't have any more kids. She has to work non-stop. She can't walk 8 minutes to her neighbor for a cup of sugar without their permission.
It's absolutely slavery. She has not rights. They pick the therapists who evaluate her and decide she needs to stay forever in the conservatorship and they pick the lawyers on both sides. It's evil.
That’s exactly what I was thinking!!!! She could ask to represent herself but be advised by lawyers. It’s sounds like that keep a constant eye on her so I don’t know how she’d manage it. The boyfriend could do the legwork actually. Jeez I feel like we are trying to free her and I’m realizing how hard it can be. She needs videos released, Rose McGowan to speak on her behalf. Hmmm that’s what they are doing so this story is already being released.
Long story, but mom was conservator for her mother in the last few years of her life. She was kind of forced into it because if she didn't, the county would have been and we as a family wanted some control of the situation. She had to go through a lot of hoops - she was vetted financially, had to be bonded. When she was finally approved, the woman at the court told her "you have a lot of power now'. Because you are now essentially that person.
I am wondering how vetted her father was. It might be a better tactic for her to request a change of conservator to someone who is a neutral 3rd party. But if the lawyer won't help...
However, I don't think Brittany Spears should be under a conservatorship at all. If she can go headline in Vegas she can take care of her own finances. I can't believe how many are trying to shift it to "well if she got different conservators". No, she is not someone who needs to be under one. This is clearly being used to rob her blind.
A lot of conservatorships are being used to enslave people and that is what Brittany Spears is facing. Her conservatorship should end. No "Maybe if she got a new owner". No. She doesn't need one. Period.
Oh, I agree. But she has been dealt a shitty hand and unfortunately, she has to play the cards she has, so perhaps a more strategic approach might yield her the results she ultimately wants (deserves).

I would think she can hire a lawyer to ghost write the papers and then she signs them pro se. even convicts can do that.

“Incumbent Brenda Penny was the only candidate to file and won the position by default when the election was canceled.”

I am sorry to hear about your family situation.
