Didn’t God say we could harvest animals for survival? That being said poaching is a bad thing. When my children were young I taught them to fish in a local small lake. I even helped restock bass fingerlings there outta my pocket. Anyway, DNR never went there. Started not catching much of anything for a while...then one day a non-English speaking Hispanic FAMILY was there using CASTNETS. I got mad & confronted them but no Inglaise...whatever. Called DNR & they said it was semi-Private (???) so they didn’t care. I know what I wanted to do, but was stuck?! I did run them off but got tired of going back to check. They ruined a good place and time for my family. That being said, do Licenses help? Yes. There’s not enough enforcement IMO. (Yes I know there’s bad DNR people too).
