Just discovering the Chandler / LA rabbit hole myself. The synchronicity is real. Great work on the eugenics!

Fun fact: Apparently Roman Polanski, famous Hollywood pedophile, director of Satanist how-to documentary "Rosemary's Baby", key figure in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and someone who likely lived his life knowing he could never even sniff the jock of Stanley Kubrick as a filmmaker, was chosen to direct Chinatown, which is obliquely an account of LA's nefarious development history (including Poppy Chandler).

Again, in very new to the west coast rabbit hole, but I'm already seeing links to the Manson Murders (seeeyeaye). I'm sure this thing goes full Wonderland if one digs. Don't have the time personally, wished I'd saved some of the links I ran across yesterday... But this one seems like a decent start for the Polanski angle:
