Actually in Virginia Beach, swearing has been outlawed and they even have "No" or "Prohibited" signs up everywhere - apparently it's being repealed but it's been in place for a very long time. Info on it here: https://www.vabeach.com/virginia-beach-articles/virginia-beachs-no-cursing-law/ I was there in 2010 and I was honestly shocked, thinking, "what happened to free speech?" I'm not a fan of hearing profanity being shouted, but that's the thing about freedom - it's not just my freedom, it's supposed to be everyone's. I'd rather hear the cursing than know people are being fined or jailed for their speech in any fashion in the United States of America.
