Spent the holiday weekend in what i thought to be a very progressive blue city. I was stunned at how forthcoming people were about their politics and how much they missed Trump. Help wanted signs in the windows of every business, gas over three dollars a gallon, no one wearing masks, long waits at restaurants due to short staff. Pretty much every single person voiced their frustrations with the current state of the country.
The most striking conversation I had was with a gay Puerto Rican Uber driver, who in the course of a five minute ride managed to praise trump, make fun of the mask mafia and hint at election fraud.
The country has had a mass awakening. The thievery of the establishment will not go unpunished for long. We’re almost there. Keep the faith.
Thanks. You reassured me that I gauged their reactions correctly. I don’t have a lot of experience with this. I’m not a big social media person to begin with and have shied away from debating politics as I’m a math/science person and usually suck at debating. I’ve always worked with conservatives so I’m not practiced in defending what I think. And since I don’t like conflict, this is not fun to me. I am curious to see how they will handle what unfolds though!
