It can be, but I have seem brilliant minds struggle with language expression. Particularly the stream of consciousness types who can't keep up wuth theor own thoughts.

I've also seen rather sophisticated writers be entirely obtuse and completely missing simple logical conclusions (namely in academia in the form of both professors and scholars).
