I am proud of him. He would make more on unemployment but chooses to work rather than be a leach on society. He's a hard worker and is going to start his own landscaping business now.... :)

Looks like the boss lost a smart employee, he’ll figure it out when the replacement sucks!
Businesses are free to do whatever stupid shit they want to do. However, their survival is not mandatory. The overall concept is called "creative destruction". New businesses that don't suck rise from the ashes of the ones that crash and burn.
Exactly. No such thing as "too big to fail".
A lot of people think corporate structuring of an economy and monopolization by a corporation is a natural evolution and a necessity for scaling up and competing. If the corporations were so natural, why do they need lobbyists to push legislation to regulate their own industries in a way that increases costs (that are marginal to them) but end up being substantial to small business competition? And sweat shops? Why do they need American labor to compete with impoverished 3rd world labor? We have been put to sleep. Their monopoly of information will be their achilles heel. They need it to hold the entire system up -- and its about to break.
He wont be able to find a replacement. Im offering a months wages if you can stick it out 90 days. Ive had a few takers but none of them made it past 30 days.
I worked on a golf course for $2/hr but absolutely loved it, because they treated me with respect, other than the $2/hr but i was only 12 years old and that was good money to me. I had no bills of my own. Wound up helping mom with her bills.
His old boss is a fool. “Ignorance is a steep cliff with perilous rocks below”.
The replacement is a Mexican working for three bucks an hour and no benefits
