Definitely agree there. If it gets people off Google search DDG is a perfectly fine recommendation.
And as a side note, your initial comment made me wonder if all the "memes" about how laughably bad Bing supposedly is have some deeper agenda behind them. Keep people on Google and when they hear their biggest competitor in the privacy space uses Bing results they might just say fuck it and stay with Google.
Could be, but I think a lot of it comes down to mocking microsoft's rather blatant product placement in movies for a while where everybody uses Bing, but almost nobody uses Bing irl.
That being said, microsoft isn't anymore trustworthy than google when it comes to privacy. I'll keep the Linux apologia to a minimum, but let's just say I wouldn't use windows 10 if you paid me at this point...
