That looks a LOT like the underground Limestone Cave storage complexes underground West of Kansas City. The caves are huge, go for many miles and there are multiple levels. They have trucking roads, full size warehouses and are used for storage including refrigerated goods, electronics, etc... . Anything that requires humidity control or security can be stored there, including food items (think government cheese, commodities).
My brother drove an 18-wheeler for years going miles deep into the limestone caves daily. I have a cousin that worked in an office on the 10th floor underground in the cave complex. It's nothing strange or "evil". The limestone cave complex is just huge trucking tunnels with storage warehouses and loading docks. Thousands of people work there. Highly secure, only a few main entrances in/out and everything is regulated.
Excellent. They have HUGE exhaust systems and filtered fresh air ventilation system. From what I've heard, it's really a nice atmosphere down there. 70-degrees, very low humidity and comfortable all year.
Of course, general members of the public aren't allowed past the guard gates. Only people who belong there can get in. Strangely enough, the public can drive right by one of the entrances to the caves, but never even recognize it. There aren't big signs, nothing that makes them stand out other than the guard stations and the large steel doors (or buildings) that form the entrance to the tunnels.
If I didn't point out that this is a limestone cave entrance, you'd never suspect it.
That doesn't look like a military complex at all.
