I've theorized that politically-agnostic, Canadian, self-made billionaire RC is secretly a white hat. But no hard proof.
What I do know is the ringleader of the SHFs, Ken Griffin, had a falling out with Trump, was donating a ton to RINOs and then got his peepee publicly smacked by Trump, ostensibly because he was actively working to bring CCP-owned companies into the US Capital Markets via shell companies in the Caymans.
RC might be an active white hat, or, more probably, he represented an ethical "known quantity" to depend on to do the right thing as the bigger plan unfolded.
Michael Burry started buying GME early on also. Around the same time as DFV from memory. He just didnt publicize his position like DFV did.
Because of being hounded by the 3 letter agencies since 2008, he keeps pretty private about GME. He has dropped quite a few clues on his twitter, but he then deletes his tweets after some time.
Burry is the guy that predicted the housing crisis in 2008 and features in "The Big Short" movie.

RC quietly bought something like 10% of the float the month before DFV did.
