First they come for the pilots and healthcare workers, next they will come for you.
If we do not take a stand starting today we all will soon be mandated.
They are piecemealing this vaccine push, one industry at a time.
If we all boycotted the airline industry today, it would send a message to the rest of the industries for tomorrow. We are not going to take it.
This will be the most important boycott of our lifetime.
United has a policy that all new hires have to have been fully vaccinated, so I suspect they are also requiring existing employees to have the vax as well. Wouldn't make sense to only require new hires.
It depends. They may be making this move to protect themselves against future litigation by existing employees. New hires are a different matter. I believe they are taking a more conservative approach and will change the demographics of their workforce through attrition.
I am not an aviation expert. But, I am curious if in the commercial aviation medical requirements of pilots here in the US, whether there is a regulation like in Canada. Pilots in Canada by law are not allowed to participate in medical experimentation. It seems they may have gotten themselves into a legal jam if it is successfully pursued. I wonder if that same restriction applies here. If so, pilots may have a legal means to refuse - that is as long as there is not FDA approval. The rules all change once there is FDA approval.
