Those protocols are basically give the patient nothing and let them ride it out at home. If they recover, they recover. If they should get sick enough to return to hospital, give them palliative care only. Place them on a ventilator and maybe administer steroids. Any clinician that sidesteps these protocols is at risk of having action taken against them. This is all by design.
