Did he really have testicular cancer or was that a cover story to account for high testosterone and other drug levels in his system?

If he was willing to let one of his balls get sliced off for a cover story,...then in a sense he's even a bigger stud for winning 7 Tour de Frances in a row with one nut than he was before.
