It comes pre-loaded with Parler. No specs available, no real tech documentation about their AOSP fork. And bitcoin millionaires don't just make chip fabs and phone manufacturing plants from scratch- so the hardware was contracted out. For all we know, it could be some CCP-owned plant like Huawei, ZTE or Motorola Mobile.
Highly sus, reserving judgement but passing for now.
Apple phones are costly for the same reason or they were supposed to be. Then the CIA inserted a spy chip without any congressional oversight or authority. Apple had no problem going along with this. Therefore Apple phones are no longer worth their upscale cost.
Freedom phones will be infiltrated too and you will have paid way too much for them.
Nothing will change until the CIA and CCP stop running congress!
Let's first mention that most phones can easily be unlocked for boatloader and rooted, and then supplied with any OS you fancy.
In terms of OS, there is Lineage OS and many other AOSP's with or without microG.
Then there is Calixos and Graphene geared towards to the pixel phone (which peculiarly is a google phone. Irony I guess)
I fail to see what they have done more than already exists in the marketplace, other than adding some preloaded apps and establishing a ban-less playstore. So, there is that.
For the less and not adventurous to be self sustaining, the lazy and convenience seekers, or those that love anything with freedom in it, it seems like a decent solution IF you are ready to move phones.
The loner out there is Libremphone and libremOS with analog switches and easy replacement components like fairphone.
It is one thing to degoogle. It is quite another to be aware of what data you do share with your Carrier, ISP, and other ... eh .. interested parties.
That said: it looks like a nice addition in solutions.
i would pay it in a heartbeat... the only problem is we don't know what apps won't work with it. For instance, what maps work with freedom phone? apple and google have had years more time to get their compatible apps up.... hell, google started out as open code... because it was on Android.... then Google tried running away with Android, essentially ruining it while at the same time advancing it...i love the IDEA OF FREEDOM PHONE... if it were already proven, I'd pay twice the asking price. As it is now though, i am skeptical - because i need my phone for work.
Erik Finman smells like the new Zuckerberg or Bill Gates. He will get rich just like they did by filling a perceived niche, and corralling the goy.
There is very little on who he really is using a limited search. I wanted his family history but could not find it. I suspect the same type background as the two POS that were given a tool to herd the goy years back.
If history repeats itself don't count on the phone really being private.
Instead of Google or Apple having control over your OS and promising they don’t use that control, now you can have a 22 year old millionaire Bitcoin investor have control over your OS and promise that he won’t use that control.
Take your pick, I guess. Or start learning smoke signals and training a carrier pigeon.
Heres what I learned about phones. I am pretty sure we are chipped, if we have any phone that uses a sim card.
How I found out. Iphone broke, sent to apple. Used a flip phone in meantime, my SIM card was in a ziploc, unengaged. I tried to make a small purchase online during this week, but was refused with message I couldnt be verified. Tried 3 different websites, all that Ive used before. All refused, one blocked me from returning, said I needed to contact to be basically un-blacklisted. I was a ghost spook hologram whatever just not verifiable.
Tried again at one of the sites with husbands info--No problem purchase completed.
Engaged SIM card in an old iphone, tried again--No problem, purchase completed.
So I think at this point, the chip that follows and verifies us is the SIM card. (funny bc I just watched movie Wander and the chip looked like a simcard)
SO, the method of it is prob the cell phone carriers. Which actually makes sense with the recent talk of them monitoring texts. Im guessing thats already happening.
And the smart souls that still use flip or any non smart phones, are likely free from this.
All that said, if the 'Freedom Phone' uses a SIM card, with a carrier, I have no more confidence in it than the others.
Works with Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, & Sprint. Move phones over in 60 seconds as soon as the phone arrives.
So any time Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint decide that most Freedom Phone owners are domestic terrorist white supremacists, they can simply shut them off.
I don't want to be negative about a company attempting to make a good product, but isn't this what has happened over and over?
Think Parler, GAB, 8chan where the rug was pulled out from under them by a provider. They did it vindictively by giving no warning an no time to migrate to other systems.
Or even better, use that info to spy on you. After all, who else besides Q people and suspicious Trump supporters would buy these phones? If I wanted to get a map of Q supporters, releasing a smartphone specifically marketed to them would be somewhere in Steps 1-10 of my plan.
This phone software has been in the works since before 2015, and its viability today is still somewhat suspect. While a welcome arrival, it is only as good as its user. If you continue to use google apps such as email, contacts, calendar, gdrive, maps, facebook, linkedin, twitter, etc. You are throwing away the benefit you just paid hard earned money for. I believe for those who are a bit tech savy, that software package can be loading on a rooted android phone that has been cleaned of its OS. Personally would not advise purchasing at least before doing some online research.

What you said was a smarter version of what I wanted to say, kek.

I have a bad vibe on this. 🤣 Seems like a great idea, but I’ll see others do it for a couple years first before I jump into that one.
