Hey guys, this is a two part post. First of all, a general question: what kind of training/preparations are you all focused on? Right now, we face a greater level of uncertainty than we've seen in recent history. Since we're all fairly proactive, I figure you all are on top of things.
Secondly, to those who aren't doing this currently, a recommendation: start training and preparing. Even if it's very basic and just for your general confidence and nothing else. Now is a great time to start jogging or walking more, working out, learning basic repairs or weapons manipulations.
Our country is going through a lot, as we all know. It's very difficult to make even basic predictions about the state of the nation a few months out. It's time to pull it together and get any advantage you can.
" If you cant run a mile, you are not in shape."
99.999% are not in shape
True.
I've been preparing for 40+ years.
Yep, kept it intentionally vague.
My prep is spiritual.
Be able to pickup at least twice bodyweight, get up and over a wall, jump high and far, carry something semi heavy for a long distance, etc.
Prepping by storing a years worth of calories around your waist does not count.
Also feels good to exercise hard.
Also put some seeds in th he found and see what happens.
Propane. Canned goods. Canning. Started a garden a couple years ago and I have a binder with those sleeve protectors for baseball cards I have with different seeds stored and labeled. I have filters for water and a lot of camping gear. Lots of literature (wife is librarian and loves books).
I have a desk job doing accounting but it’s always good to be at least 2 weeks prepared. I love camping and I love cooking so I always stay stocked up. Not just for us but my family and friends.
I’m in Texas and when we had the bad winter storm, that was a huge eye opener for people to prepare more. When we go grocery shopping we buy just that little bit extra every paycheck. I’m not a hardcore prepper but we have enough to Survive comfortably for about a year. I’m worried about my pets and will need to stock up more for them.
Edit: yes I can run a mile. If there’s zombies, 2 miles.
My fork and spoon have been practicing very hard.
When the rest of you skinny ass in shape Adonis are starved down to a pencil necked whip, I'll still have the strength to pull a trigger.
Seriously, I doubt you'll see that kind of a war. You will see them coming to you, but first you'll see them shut off the food supply to everyone. When everything is in short supply they'll try to force you to them.
Haha fair point. And you are probably right about the coming to them idea. If anything major went down like that, the logistics of going place to place are just too much.
