I seem to recall that after Seth's death, the DNC offered the Rich family some "help" in handling the media etc. They assigned a fixer to them - one of those people that they call in after they have messed up to minimise all the fallout.

It was he who originated all the court cases. The Rich family were told to say nothing so they became uncommunicative at that point. The Rich family had hired a private investigator (financed by a friendly third party). That PI was fired as soon as the DNC "help" arrived.
