I was brought up to hate the Germans, now I see they were shafted after WW1 & 2. The national guilt is so bad they weren't able to stop the Muslim immigrant invasion. Now the very word nazi closes down all arguments and dissent - useful.
Polish people told me they were relieved when Germans came to their areas as they were terrified of the Russians. They said the Germans were disciplined and generally well behaved and polite. Heard many accounts of retreating Germans taking people who were fleeing the communists back from Russia and Ukraine, they said they were treated with kindness and generosity and were glad to be helped to get out.
