My guess is FBI honeypot...remember recent article of 800 global arrests from FBI tricking druglords into using special "untraceable" phones. Every convo was sent straight to FBI and LEO.
There's no such thing right now fren. Even when you get past google, the towers are allowed to sell their data and there's always at least 3 towers tracking you because that's how cell networks work. Until there is legislation to stop this unconstitutional spying, the best you can do, IMHO, is to use a VPN on your phone and keep it in a Faraday bag when not in use like the cops/military do.
GTK…. Thank you!
If you put it in a faraday bag, switch it off or use aircraft mode. Otherwise it will flatten the battery trying to send a signal.
Check out the video at the end of the GP article where they are interviewing the guy about the security as he is saying how secure it is while shaking his head no at the same time. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/07/exclusive-freedom-phone-inventor-erik-finman-speaks-tgps-alicia-powe-launch-party-now-can-stop-big-tech-tracking/
Finman is not the inventor. That's like al gore....... Variants of this phone OS has been in the works for 10+ years. There are limitations that are not disclosed in the advertising.Do your research via a few web searches and you will be satisfied this is a nothing burger.
There are however companies out there that take this seriously and have completely custom encrypted phones for a few thousand dollars that you could trust. These are used by corp execs and private security teams. Just recently one of them was charged for aiding in drug trafficing simply for having supplied the encrypted phone and network connection. So you know it works.
Oddly enough though the FBI seemed to have still intercepted messaging data. Go figure.
The only "freedom" phones I know of are the Librem 5 and the Pinephone. Both of which have dip switches for turning off the various wireless communications and they both use Linux, not Android.
This thing has got to be some sort of honeypot device for sure.
