That's true. My father used to be a hardcore democrat. He believed republicans were heartless and cold. One day, while riding with a much older and wiser conservative co-worker, politics came up and when asked why he supported democrats he explained, "Because they care about the little guy". His co-worker proceeded to inform him very patiently of how that was a lie. He never lost his cool and step by step dismantled every argument my dad had.

It was the first time anyone had really challenged my dad. Yes, he knew many conservatives (his whole family) but the argument always turned emotional. They would yell at each other more than debate. His conservative co-worker was the first to meticulously dismantle my dad's points and actually make him think about what he was really supported.

My father remained a democrat for several years after, but that conservation stuck in his head. It was the beginning of him waking up to the lies.

Don't expect someone to just wake up and go, "Ok! Wow, you're right! Everything I believed in is a lie! Your argument made me see!" It doesn't work that way, but we can begin the change. We can put little cracks in the brainwashing.

My dad's co-worker moved to another state and they never met again after that conversation. Probably he had no idea that he had planted the seeds to my dad's awakening. We may not get to witness the breakthrough even if we are the cause of it.

So don't give up and think you can't reach people.

This is hilarious. I went to pick up my CCW after renewal and said that we need a new governor. They laughed and said, yeah that would be nice. I said maybe it will still happen. I continued by adding that North Carolina did have 106% voter turnout. Must be that new math they’re teaching our kids. They laughed nervously. Was I being to blunt I thought. No, I’m being honest. Now talk of an audit in North Carolina is happening and I wonder if they think back on what I said a few months ago?

I have to check myself around colleagues who have been vaccinated due to pressure and coercing from our employer. I let them know I have no intention of getting the jab but I suppress the reality of what is in it and the VAERS stats and the future outlook for those who sheepishly took it.

At some point it has to become obvious doesn’t it? So far it’s been the carrot; free donuts and free ice cream followed by lotteries for a million and college tuition - get ready for the stick. Take it or else you don’t eat (France)

It's important to tell them nonetheless, because it at the very least plants a seed. It's impossible to unring this bell. When the big stuff goes down they will remember, which is vastly safer for them mentally than being ambushed by a reality they didn't even know existed. It's okay if they don't believe. Don't get mad or force the issue.
