My liberal friend drove me to DC (because being a political science major, they've always wanted to go) January 6th, was at the Trump rally, and while we weren't at the Capitol, we were close.
Yet with the audit out, their first words were "I like how they brought out old classics, like SharpieGate." And completely dismissed everything else.
I send them link after link, but they talk about how "their scientists" ”their news", contradicts what I send.
They listen to the msm all day, and thats how they get their info.
When I question why their news is so flip floppy on so much shit (mainly about covid) its always just " its new info!"
When it came out that Fauci's emails said masks are useless, his first excuse was that it was from the beginning of the pandemic, and we didn't know how well masks work. Lol wat, masks have been around forever, it wasnt something we had to do new "studies" on.
They parrot "it was the most secure election in history" and when I ask proof its "well his own people said the same", yes but "how" was it secure?
They just shut up on the point and move it to an easier target "does it matter when trump's own elected officials, say there is no fraud?"
Its insane and annoying arguing with people like this, and even after showing children being raped by the cartels, to be smuggled over, they still argue for open borders.
Ack, sorry for the rant, but it's truly mind boggling to me, that someone can truly be this brainwashed, in light of the amount of info I've sent, and that they've seen themselves.
But they believe Biden won only on the premise of "well Trump was so hated, that's why Biden got so many votes."
We lost a son d/t our politics. He stayed with us 8 months during the height of Covid. He was fearful of traveling back to his home , other side of the U.S. He went ape shit when we were watching X22. Doesn’t believe in Q, calls it shit. Finally went home and told us he doesn’t want anything to do with us or our other son. Complete indoctrination by a University in D.C I hope one day he opens his eyes and realizes his parents were not as dumb as he thought. Wish we had opened our eyes before he went to that, we never would have sent him to his choice of University.
When this whole thing started, I just went about my life as normal. I live in a town a good hours drive from the nearest city so things weren't nuts here.
I then ditched FB after imploring to people that you can turn the economy off but you can't just turn it back on again. I was told that I only care about the stock market and I want old people to die.
I also continued to go to work and started to work from home on days when I wanted/could do.
The only place I wore a mask was at work, and then it was just a thin gaiter one that I did not wear 'properly' and only wore it when I wasn't in my work area. The only store I needed to go to was the supermarket and I respectfully declined a mask from any employee that offered me one. One time, I had some double masked guy scream at me that I'm an asshole and I'm killing people. I just ignored him and went about my shopping. I'm not a big guy, but I'm heavy into kickboxing and my body reflects that.
I also have 3 people that work directly for me. Two of them didn't miss a beat and continued to come to work. One has a compromised immune system so they wanted to work from home. After 4 weeks, they also came back to work.
My parents took the vax and I stopped speaking to them about such things as it was going nowhere. They won't be around forever and I'm not going to let the global gaslighting destroy my relationship with them.
So what's my point with all this rambling?
We pedes are legion now. All the 'conspiracy' stuff people would roll there eyes at when I talked they are seeing in a different light.
'We' have also created communities like this one here free from the slimy tentacles of big tech where we can share information and stories with each other.
I was deployed to Iraq way back in 2003 right at the beginning. I wasn't even old enough to legally drink beer in the US. That experience completely destroyed almost everything and anything I thought was truth/reality.
It took me many years to learn about how the world really works and man, let me tell you, that is a lonely, lonely road to go down but now for the first time in my life, other people are seeing reality for what it is so when I become impatient with how slow people are to wake up, I take a deep breath, remember how long it took me and that major trauma had to happen before I was willing to learn.
So now I talk when people ask me questions but don't feel the need to scream about 'conspiracy theories' anymore.
