I can't believe they like Trump's wallpaper and rug THAT much...
Google search: biden oval office redecorate
All stories from Jan/Feb 2021. Not a peep about any changes to the Oval Office since then.
In actuality, they've changed next to nothing compared to Trump, aside from the paintings/statues. On top of that, they've since stopped filming/photographing pretty much anything in the Oval Office. If they do, it's all a fixed angle or a single camera.
I've been on the fence for the whole White House Replica theory pretty much from the start, but it has certainly been long enough for them to have redecorated, right?
Now let me run this by you...
The running assumption, if they did have a replica set they were working on, has been that they only have one.
What if they had several?
That would explain why they can't redecorate, even if they had access to the real Oval Office and White House. There'd be too much of a chance that they'd mess something up and break continuity between the locations.
Thoughts?
That's a small problem, easily taken care of by coordinated production. And it would only matter if you shot the same scene from two locations. Two different uses (say, for two different declarations) can easily have different books on the desk or whatever, without it being an issue: it's only an issue when you're crafting the same scene at different times, and that can present issues even with a single set.
Even with all that, the mistakes like the microphone on the green screen were seemingly done on purpose: continuity doesn't seem like a big issue to me. The fake inauguration is a much bigger tell.
Now that you mention, there are easier ways to ensure continuity.
I'm wondering more and more...
If you can deepfake a face, why can't you deepfake a room?
That's what greenscreens, and painted backdrops before them, are all about. They've been really good at illusions for a long time. Have you ever gotten into the symbols decoding guy? Reading his stuff is like panning out to see the fake set, but instead of theater skills, it's the virtual greenscreen for history and news.
Let's not forget when the microphone clipped in front of Biden in that video when he was approached by reporters outside
