Bayan Har dam broke, and that's upstream on the yellow river. The flooding is in Zhengzhou, which is downstream. Just now, Steve claimed that it was not connected, because the dam was in Mongolia. There has been massive rainfall and flooding along the Yellow River in Zhengzhou.
However, a dam breaking at Bayan Har, which is nearly 1,000 miles upstream from Zhengzhou, would take the water about 3 days to arrive.
The dam failure is likely from the same heavy rains, and a dam failure certainly doesn't help... but if it only collapsed today, then the water from that dam failure will likely cause additional flooding in Zhengzhou a few days later.
It did not collapse today, it was a couple or three days ago.
OK. That makes sense then.
