PCR is literally used to create copies of genetic material. No matter if you are an animal or a plant, your Genetic material is made up of 4 bases: Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine, and Thymine. They also pair together in only one way. If they don’t they you are being set up for cancer. Adenine ALWAYS pairs with Thymine, Guanine always pairs with Cytosine (A&T together while G&C) together. This tendency is exploited by PCR to be able to back fill any single strand.

This has got to be the dumbest idea on the face of the planet. PCR is literally used for creating material that wasn’t there before. Even in the most controlled environment you can still get stuff in this soup that you don’t want. That’s why you keep the cycles low to keep the noise and unwanted pairs from those contaminants at a minimum. 30+ cycles of exponential growth each cycle? Are you kidding me? This whole thing has been shenanigans from the start.
