When I got sober and did the 12 steps in absolute earnest, all these "fruits of the spirit " came to me. When I fall away from prayer, meditation, gratitude, and self reflection it wanes. A great motivation to stay in line. Peace is indeed the price. I no longer fear death either. I see things much much more clearly than almost anyone I know. This was a gift. Not from me. Promise.
