I hadn't really thought this angle through, but it's certainly astute.

We know the Biggest Boys (NYT, WAPO, et al) are completely in the DS pockets, and profitability is secondary to propoganda for them. But what about the rest of the rackets?

Researching all of this is beyond my scope here, so consider the following a theory, not a proof:

What is to happen to the Syndicates who played along with the fake news farce and expected to be able to "wet their beaks" as well after their dirty work was done? I'm talking Syndicates like Alden Global Capital (Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, NY Daily News) down to my favorite punching bag The Pointer Institute (Tampa Bay Times, Polifact [lol]) and all other the mid-tier, regional gangsters in between as they start to feel the pinch of public apathy and opinion on their pocketbooks. Most don't have Bezos behind them, allowing them to operate as "loss leaders".

Will these Syndicates realize the Bosses at the top of the Pyramid think of them as disposable as well? After all, how many news outlets do 500,000 people need? This could be the UV Light that these night dwellers need to see the invisible ink written on the wall.

We shall see where this goes, but it certainly is fascinating to consider. What will happen when the Deep State comes after the journalistic "middle class?"
