I'm not so optimistic people are really docile in France barely anything happened until now, and even if this is a good start it's merely 1% of the region's population gathering once a week to vent for a few hours and then disband. I walk in the streets and see no signs of concern over a hostile takeover happening in real time.
Also, IF you’re there, update us? With Truth, not opinion. Needs to be verified too.
Looks like there were more people on the different footage than when I arrived and even though I'm not a specialist at gauging crowds I felt like there was 15000 people at first, maybe it ended up being 25k but I really don't believe there was 100k on that plaza. It wasn't even tight like that. To me there were significantly more people marching a week ago. People from other cities reported bigger crowds this week end. It doesn't seem to be the case for Paris from my point of view.
what is the name of the plaza ?
Place du Trocadéro
Thanks for this. I know it’s hard to gauge, but what made me wonder was the 360 degree view. Crowds in many directions?
Okay so after a bit of research it appears that the area of the plaza is around 21 000 square meters, and with let's say 4 people per square meter that would give us more or less 85k. Considering that the whole plaza was not full, that there was this empty space behind the stage but a bit of crowd between the palace wings 75k doesn't seem too far fetched. Not as bad as I thought !
Nope you see most of it on this 360 view. It didn't go past the plaza into the streets.
Another post said Macron’s security detail quit? Police siding with the people? We’ll see.
