During Obama years, China declared ownership of south china sea, though it has never been theirs. The dispute went all the way to the UN, and even the UN declared they legally, by maritime law, do not have any claim to the SCS. China continued to build islands there , strategically placing military on these islands. The SCS is very valuable in terms of shipping for all countries. Trump continually ignored the warnings and sent ships and planes through there anyway, as he legally could.
It is only a matter of time until itchy fingers sink the wrong ship in that area causing a major conflict. The big question here is --Why would the British do this now? I think the brit's think monetarily first...they want their shipping lanes back. Otherwise this makes no sense, as to why they would taunt the Chinese
Yes Japan should be worried, however I just read an article somewhere that stated the japanese have some military might that could stave off china in a non-nuclear situation.....
For the same reasons the French do it, too. They need to »project« their power all here and there, because they've done it for hundreds of years and because they still can. The British and the French feel the need to flex their muscles or rather to keep flexing their muscles. They »project« outwardly, while being absolute pussies inwardly.
Look at Canada: absolute pussies inside and outside. Canada only projects Castro's son, Truedeau.
I'm not familiar with the Chinese warnings or anything related to this.
Can anyone give me a QRD?

And yet, China has already threatened the Japanese with full on Nuclear War for ANY Military aggression.... no matter how small....
