Does Australia not have a Posse Comitatus equivalent blocking the military from being used against the citizens?
No, they don't. They still take marching orders from the Queen. Not openly, of course, bit the Queen still views Australia as a commonwealth. As such, almost nothing happens down there without her approval. It's what I call, " a soft Commonwealth."
Don't know. The government does whatever it wants.
