I know but I don't want to give any govt that level of control over what people can view when it's all consenting adults involved and no violence being depicted or suggested, because violence against others is not protected by the Bill of Rights.
You give them that power, then they can say well you know what, I don't like how revved up that crowd gets at Trump rallies, so they're banned too. We just don't like people getting too excited, someone might get hurt. FOR THE GOOD OF SOCIETY it's banned. Etc.
I no longer consume any porn at all, and I don't miss it one bit. But I'm a huge 1st Amendment absolutist.
I am also a 1st Amendment absolutist, but I recogize that many of these platforms are not secured to just adults only. I also recognize that porn is used as one means of population control, and to dehumanize our personal life experiences to the point people become disconnected with what real personal interaction is supposed to be, and the role it plays in making us human.
You say consenting adults, but how do make sure those are the only ones with access? What makes you think is is not damaging to even adults and society at large?
I understand your concern with the slippery slope, but I see the slippery slope we have taken into the sewer with it available too.
All fair comments.
I don't know the answers. I was merely putting out the hypothetical that IF the adults were consenting, THEN there is no violence implicit in the material JUST because they're having sex of some kind.
I agree that it's nearly impossible to tell when women have been methodically raped from childhood into thinking acting in porn is what they need to be doing.
