Just look at the story of Kimberly Lindsay one of our CDC's top biologists.
She was arrested for pedophilia with her boyfriend, using his 6 year old son. She was teaching him how to have sex with her and with the family dog while her boyfriend, a guard at the CDC was a willing participant.
She was acquitted after five years and even her back pay reinstated because she said she couldn't earn a lot of money with that hanging over her head.
She is of course compromised and back at the CDC right where they need her.
I keep posting about this and I see now they are scrubbing links but CNN still has one.

This story is similar to the astronaut, a jilted lover who drove across the country to catch up with his new lover in the Orlando Airport and stab to death. She timed her drive to her departure time and knew she would make it if she never stopped the car. This female astronaut wore a diaper on her drive so she would not have to stop. She was just in time and caught up with her in the parking garage of the Orlando International Airport.
She was arrested for assault an attempted murder but she is back at NASA! They made her head of the NASA curriculum. So they have her right where they need her, compromised, or she will not work.
Another similar Sick Story fairly recent I wanted to share, again. These powerful agencies do know how to pick their staff when they have big brains.

How much time did Lisa Nowak get? Nowak pleaded guilty to felony burglary and misdemeanor battery in 2009, and her plea deal meant she was sentenced to two days in jail (which was waved due to time already served), a year of probation, and 50 hours of community service. Nowak's detail with NASA was terminated a month after her arrest. (She was brought back and made head of curriculum)
Boy they really took care of her didn't they!
All the fuckery in the world seems to be and likely always has been due to a tiny but clever minority of psychopaths. Some interesting ideas on this topic out there:

Excellent list of books.
Might I also suggest Political Ponerology, written by a Polish psychology professor who details how psychopaths rise through the ranks of authority and basically run - and will eventually ruin - a civilization through their lack of empathy, need for depraved thrills, utter selfishness (they fight amongst themselves for power) and zero creativity.
A friend lent me this book and it blew me away with how timely it is to this insane period we are living in.
Great recommendation. Thanks.
You're very welcome.
I've read most of the books on your list. Political Ponerology was my first intro to psychopathic influences. A bit dry and intellectual, but, boy, oh, boy does the author nail Communism, Nazism and the current Cabal/Deep State players twisted reasons for control over others.
I just ordered Political Ponerology - thanks again - and am working my way through Puzzling People (Sheridan is one of my guilty EweToob pleasures, he’s quite out there but he is passionate). I have almost finished the Lucifer Principle and I think Political Ponerology will be a neat segue from that. I have also read the articles I linked (Lindsay’s tome got me more interested in the psychopathy angle to start with and it’s been a bit of an eye opening journey ever since especially when contemplating the prolific output of Robert Hare). The other books listed are on the ‘to buy’ list. Your description of Political Ponerology is so apt and speaks directly to my sneaking suspicion that our time and almost every other time when disaster was afoot can be attributed to a psychopathic minority. Mass awareness of and concomitant preparedness for the world being run by literal psychopaths might just be humanity’s problem and solution in one fell swoop.
